What We Collect

  • Phone numbers of family members (required for the service to work)
  • Names of family members
  • Text message content and call transcripts (encrypted)
  • Photos sent via MMS for analysis (processed and not stored permanently)
  • Email address (for billing only)
  • Payment information (processed by Stripe; we never see your card number)

How We Use It

  • Provide AI-powered tech support via text and voice
  • Send notifications to account owners
  • Track and display the request history (the "running list")
  • Process payments
  • Improve the service

Encryption & Data Retention

We take the security of your data seriously:

  • Message encryption: All message content is encrypted using AES-256-GCM encryption at rest. Even in the event of a database breach, your message content cannot be read without the encryption key.
  • PII encryption: Names, email addresses, and behavioral profiles are encrypted at rest using the same AES-256-GCM standard.
  • Media deletion: Photos and screenshots sent via MMS are deleted from Twilio's servers when the associated message expires. Media URLs stored in our database are encrypted.
  • Message retention: Message content is automatically and permanently deleted after 30 days. Request summaries (brief, non-sensitive descriptions) are retained for the duration of your subscription.
  • Account deletion: You can request complete deletion of all your data at any time. This removes all messages, requests, member profiles, devices, and family data permanently.

What We Don't Do

  • We never sell your data to anyone
  • We never use your conversations to train AI models
  • We never share your information outside your family group
  • We never store your payment card details

Third-Party Data Processors

To provide the service, your data is processed by the following third-party services. We only share the minimum data necessary for each function.

  • Anthropic (Claude AI): Powers all AI responses. When you send a text, call, or forward an email, the content of your message (including any photos) is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI to generate a helpful response. Anthropic does not use your data to train their models. Your conversation history within an active request is shared for context. Anthropic's Privacy Policy
  • Twilio: Handles all phone calls and text messages. Your phone number and message content pass through Twilio's infrastructure. Photos sent via MMS are temporarily hosted on Twilio's servers. Twilio's Privacy Policy
  • ElevenLabs: Powers voice call conversations. When you call Kinline, your voice audio is processed by ElevenLabs to understand your question and respond naturally. Your name and device information may be shared for personalized responses. ElevenLabs Privacy Policy
  • Stripe: Processes all payments. Your email, name, and payment method are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Stripe's Privacy Policy
  • SendGrid: Handles email delivery. When you forward emails to Kinline or receive email notifications, SendGrid processes the email content. SendGrid's Privacy Policy
  • Railway: Hosts our servers and database in the United States. All data at rest is encrypted. Railway's Privacy Policy

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your data: View all your requests and conversations through the family dashboard at kinline.ai/dashboard
  • Delete your data: Request complete deletion of all your family's data by emailing help@kinline.ai, or use the "Delete Account" option in your account settings
  • Stop collection: Cancel your subscription at any time to stop all data collection. Existing message content is automatically purged after 30 days.
